We Are the Mutants welcomes concise pitches on topics relevant to our mission. We are looking for smart, engaging cultural analysis and criticism. We are not looking for jargon or fanboy panegyrics.
Please send an email to watm@wearethemutants.com with “PITCH” written in the subject line. Include your idea in the body of the email with a link to two or three writing samples (blog posts are perfectly acceptable), and tell us a little bit about yourself. Your feature article or essay, if accepted, should be at least 1500 words. There is no maximum. We pay for features.
We are also interested in short- and long-form reviews (books, albums, films, comics, illustrations, etc.) and exhibits, and queries are always welcome.
Due to the amount of submissions we currently receive, it may take up to 30 days for us to review and respond to your pitch. We apologize for the delay.
Since our launch on August 29, 2016, We Are the Mutants articles have been featured at The New York Times, The A.V. Club, Bloody Disgusting, Uproxx, and Digg, among others.
